Please fill out the form below to upload your files to us. If you are sending multiple files, we recommend using WinZIP or a similar program to pack your files.
In an effort to eliminate file errors, billable fixes/touch-ups, and improve matching between computer screen, proof, and actual printed piece, Progressive Printing is now requiring that PDF files are PDF/X-3 compliant. PDF/X-3 is an Industry Standard for how your computer packages and saves a PDF file, and how our computer reads the file.
Instructions on how to Save / Export files as a PDF/X-3 Compliant file for Printing:
If you are using an Adobe program (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.):
- Click File -> Adobe PDF Presets -> PP HI RES 14
*Note: If you do not have the PP Hi-Res profile on your computer, you can download it by clicking HERE. You will then have to extract the zip file and save it to the following:
Mac OS: Library/Application Support/Adobe PDF/Settings
OR
Windows: Save to your Desktop, then follow the following instructions to activate the settings (this is a one-time setup for Windows only):
- Start your Adobe program (Such as InDesign)
- Click File -> Adobe PDF Presets -> Define...
- Click Load
- Navigate to where you saved the file on your computer (This should be your Desktop), and select the file.
- Click Open
The settings are now saved within your program for future use. You can delete the file that you saved to your Desktop.
If you are using any Microsoft program (Publisher, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.):
- Click File -> Print
- Choose Adobe PDF as you printer
- Click Printer Properties
- Under the Adobe PDF Settings tab, click the ‘Default Settings’ drop-down list and choose PDF/X3:2002
- Click OK
- Click Print
*Please Note: In order to save a PDF/X-3 Compliant file out of a Microsoft program, your computer must have a full version of Adobe Acrobat Installed (not just Adobe Reader).
If you are still unable to export as a PDF/X-3 compliant file, please upload your native working files (InDesign, Quark, Publisher, etc.) and be sure to include any images or special fonts used in your publication.
